Gavi DOCG and Biodynamic Methods
Visit and Wine Tasting | About 2 h.
About an hour from Milan and Genoa, we go in search of Gavi‘s tastes and landscapes. Monferrato is a region set between the Po river, the Langhe and the Bormida valley. Here the hills are low and the soil rich in clay and limestone. To the east, in the area called Alto Monferrato, close to the Liguria border, we find Gavi with its unique, gentle, vine cultured hills. The Gavi wine, Doc in 1974 and Docg since 1998, is obtained from the Cortese vine, native of the Alessandria region. Its characteristics are a constant and abundant productivity yielding a straw-yellow wine with fresh, delicate fruity and aromatic herb scents. The winery proposes to the visitor its Demeter certified wine, produced according to biodynamic procedures: low temperatures, minimum sulfites, autochthonous yeasts
