Visit and tasting among the hills of Prosecco Superiore

Visit and tasting in winery | Duration: Approximately 1.30 hrs

An activity to discover Prosecco, a walk amongst the beautiful hills of Prosecco Superiore and in the cellars where the most famous bubbles in the world are produced to get to know all their secrets. A visit to a winemaking company that perfectly knows how to combine tradition and innovation in order to fully express the character of its wines. You will have the opportunity to taste three different expressions of Prosecco Superiore: the first, also called vino col fondo, or “sur lie “, is Prosecco made with the traditional method, the same technique used when machines to create sparkling wine had not been invented yet. When the wine is bottled after a few weeks it undergoes a process of spontaneous refermentation that leads to the “froth“. The second and third wine that you will taste are Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Brut and Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Extra-Dry: a white wine that has become extremely popular over time both in Italy and abroad, being very easy to drink and characterised by the pleasantness of the bubbles combined with its floral and fruity character.

Visit and tasting among the hills of Prosecco Superiore

Visit and tasting in winery | Duration: Approximately 1.30 hrs

The production area of Prosecco Superiore is entirely located in the province of Treviso and more precisely in the hills around Vittorio Veneto, Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. It is vinified from Glera grapes, a semi-aromatic vine, with the addition of other local grapes such as Bianchetta, Perera and Verdiso. Frequently, even for Conegliano Valdobbiadene, one can speak of heroic viticulture since the steep slopes of the hills do not allow mechanisation and work is painstakingly carried out by hand. The most famous and popular version of this wine is Prosecco Spumante, produced from base wines and fizzed up using the Martinotti-Charmat method, which makes it possible to best express the typical floral and fruity notes. Usually dry, both still and sparkling PROSECCO DOCG are also produced here.

Zoning of vineyards is quintessential, and many producers are adding the “rive” mention on their labels, to underline the extremely high quality of their prosecco, deriving from a particularly fertile land. Conegliano Valdobbiadene is marketed indicating the residual sugar content and it can be Extra-dry, Dry and Brut.
