We will discover an alternative Venice thanks to a guide that will walk us along an itinerary in the Cannaregio district, quite off the beaten track. We will discover that Venice is a place permeated by the cultures of the whole world and this feeling can be perceived simply by walking through the city and observing pinnacles, tunnels and mosaics or by enjoying the dishes offered in the most popular taverns that use spices and flavours from the East. The guide will tell us about Venice, unravelling its architectural peculiarities and its historical and cultural heritage. But, above all, we shall be introduced to the authentic daily life of the Venetians through their typical food. The tour will end with a cooking lesson dedicated to the preparation of “cicheti“, the typical Venetian appetisers.

A walk among the typical Venetian campi and calli, with a deep insight into the city’s history and culture and unusual views of its lagoon. We will discover the daily fruit and vegetable markets, the history of local food and wine, the typical Venetian cultivations and the history of food in this former independent republic named Serenissima. At the end of our walk, another journey will take place in a typical osteria, where a chef will tell us all about the traditional dishes and their secrets while preparing seasonal cicheti (venetian tapas) that we will eventually taste and wash down with a delicious glass of wine.
